Biography Synopsis

The Steady Steppers™ have a distinguished record for training and instructional methods and are broadly recognized for our outstanding leadership qualities.  We hold ourselves and others to the highest standards of integrity and demonstrate respect for people at all levels of the dance.  We have mature and balanced judgment and always put the interest of our students and colleagues first.  In return, we have earned the respect of both local and national dance communities.

Education & Training

2001 – Present /Continual

Instruction, guidance, assistance or direction from notable Chicago based Stepping icons Andre “Dre” Blackwell, Anthony “Tic Man” Allen, Donny Davis, Angie Faine, Margaret “Lady Margaret” Fisher, L.C. Henderson, Keith Hubbard, Claudell Jackson, Brian “Stepping B” Patterson and Cliff “Big Slim” Reynolds.

Accomplishment Summary as of May 2008

• Certification Certificates for Stepping Instructor awarded to Larry Collins, Kammal Smith and Lucille Brown

• Conducted approximately 400 Stepping instructional classes in Detroit (MI)

• Conducted approximately 30 Stepping workshops in 17 cities across the nation

• Published 5 highly sought after Stepping instructional DVD’s

• Competitors in 5 Stepping competitions

• 2008 – The Steady Steppers™, Official launch of The Steady Steppers™ REVISED website www.Dance-Institute.com – Detroit (MI)

• 2008 – The Steady Steppers™ initiated into the membership of United We Dance (UWD).   UWD is an organization consisting of 22 groups of different dance genres (Ballroom, Bob, Hand Dance, Line Dance and Stepping) that meet annually the first weekend in June for their dance convention.  The UWD dance convention has 700 to 1,000 in attendance each year.  Detroit, Michigan will host the United We Dance Weekend, June 6 – 8 2008.
